Hyperthermia Combined with Radiation and Androgen Therapy Provides ...

BSD Medical Corp. (AMEX:BSM) today announced that the International Journal of Hyperthermia has published the preliminary results of a phase II clinical study involving 144 patients with locally advanced prostate cancer. In this study BSD Medical's BSD-2000 hyperthermia system was used to deliver local hyperthermia combined with conformal radiation therapy and androgen suppression therapy in the treatment of prostate cancer. Hyperthermia combined with radiation and androgen therapy demonstrated results in survival similar to treatments using higher radiation doses, with no significant side effects associated with either hyperthermia or radiation therapy.

ScienceDaily (Jan. 29, 2008) — The American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM) has found there is insufficient evidence to recommend for or against routine population prostate screening with digital rectal examination (DRE) or measurement of the serum tumor marker, prostatespecific antigen (PSA). ACPM advises that clinicians caring for men, especially African-American men and those with a family history, should provide information about the potential benefits and harms of screening and limits of current evidence to allow for them to make an informed decision about screening.

This is an incentive program for homeless people who desire to change their lives. Homeless people who sign up for relief with this housing program will in return perform work in the public works arena for local Cape & Islands’ towns. An example of this type of work is cleaning litter off the sides of our roads and highways.

Our state government opened the doors at Otis Air Force Base by providing relief and housing for Katrina victims from Louisiana and Mississippi last fall 2005. This compassion was necessary after the wrath of that natural disaster. Our compassion is necessary today in dealing with the homeless and there is great space and potential available housing if those barracks were allowed to be used.
