British Dating Site Focuses on Sexless Relationships

For anyone looking for sex, the Internet is often the first stop, with its array of dating sites and chat rooms devoted to the subject.

It is probably the last place that those seeking a celibate relationship would consider looking.

However, an online dating agency has been launched for those seeking intimacy without intercourse.

Platonicpartners.co.uk says that it will help the silent minority of adults seeking "celibate, platonic, non-physical or partly physical relationships" and help them to find a mate.

The site was founded by Susie King, a former life coach, who was moved to set up the forum after a close friend attempted suicide because of his sexual impotence.

A senior Bush administration official said Tuesday that the United States is pushing Pakistan to fix "serious distortions" ahead of Feb. 18 parliamentary elections.

Richard Boucher, the assistant secretary of state for South Asia, conceded before a House panel that "if history is any guide," some fraud will occur. But he said a vibrant, though still restricted, media and international observers, including U.S. officials, will help curb cheating.

Lawmakers at the hearing criticized the Bush administration for its steadfast support of President Pervez Musharraf despite his suspension of the constitution and declaration of emergency rule last year, his purge of the judiciary and the arrests of thousands of opponents.

Boucher acknowledged "some serious distortions left on the process of the elections, with some things that still need to be corrected." He said the United States is doing everything it can to ensure a fair election, including preparing teams from the U.S.

Paedophile jailed for life for raping boys

Sullivan pleaded guilty to 11 counts including rape, attempted rape and sexual assault on two young males on dates from April 2004 to July 2006.

The Central Criminal Court heard Sullivan was previously jailed for two concurrent terms of four years each at Naas Circuit Criminal Court on November 21st, 1995 and for a five year term at the Central Criminal Court on October 6th 1997 - all for male sex assaults.

Mr Justice Paul Carney directed that Sullivan be registered as a sex offender and said he had destroyed incredibly young lives as well as abusing the trust that had been placed in him.

"Under normal circumstances these latest would have warranted a 12-year sentence reduced to 10 years on mitigation but his previous convictions have escalated this case into a whole different category," Mr Justice Carney said.
